Youth and Children Ministries

Sunday School

Our children’s Sunday School begins at 9:30 am from Labor Day through Memorial Day.  All classes meet together in the sanctuary for an opening time of singing led by our church music director Doreen Daily.  Miss Doreen, as the children affectionately call her, brings her many years of experience leading children in worship and her huge repertoire of upbeat and engaging songs, both old and new.  The children occasionally practice special music to share during the worship service, or even collaborate in writing new songs of praise as they make a joyful noise!

Our three children’s classes (3, 4 & 5 year olds, 6 & 7 year olds, and 8 through 12 year olds) are currently studying What’s In the Bible, a fun and educational curriculum from VeggieTales creator Phil Vischer.  Our Sunday School hour concludes with a snack and a fun craft to reinforce the the main point of the day's lesson.

Children's Sermon

Children are invited and encouraged to participate together with their families during the Sunday Morning Worship Service.  All children are loved and valued as members of our worshipping community and we embrace their presence as Jesus taught us. The Children’s sermon is part of the larger service, as all children are welcomed to come to the front of the sanctuary for a special moment geared just for them. Pastor Derek relates the main idea of the Sunday sermon through stories, object lessons, audience participation and scripture.

Youth Group

Our youth group meets weekly at 6:00 pm Sundays at the church.  Youth entering Grade 7 through completing Grade 12 are invited to join us for fun, fellowship, and prayer.  Weekly meetings might find us roasting marshmallows over a bonfire, playing Bible charades in the fellowship hall, working together on service projects for our community, or talking about how the weekly sermon relates to the everyday lives of our teens.

Childcare guidelines

Nursery is provided for ages 3 and under.  All childcare workers have current clearances as required by state and federal law.  For the well-being of all our little ones, we ask that you refrain from using the nursery if you child has had a fever or shown other signs of sickness in the past 24 hours.  All personal belongings such as diaper bags, bottles and sippy-cups should be labeled with your child’s name.  Please let our staff know if you child has any food allergies or other special needs.
